Military Software System Development

Sole Developer / Originally Machine Gunner • 2025

JavaScript

All Taiwanese males are required to complete compulsory military service. I was originally assigned as a machine gunner in the Matsu Defense Command Infantry Battalion. However, a logistics officer (Captain) recognized my technical background and reassigned me to develop an automated duty roster system. Using JavaScript, I created a web-based platform that replaced manual scheduling, streamlined roster management, and improved fairness and efficiency. The system has since been adopted at the battalion level and continues to be in regular use. For this contribution, I received an official letter of appreciation.

Key Achievements

  • Reassigned from combat duty (machine gunner) to software development due to technical expertise.
  • Independently designed and implemented a web-based scheduling system.
  • Replaced manual duty roster management with an automated workflow.
  • Deployed in an infantry battalion at Matsu Defense Command, with continued use beyond service period.
  • Received an official appreciation certificate for practical contributions to military operations.
